Privacy policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

This is the privacy policy for the Telegram bot and Mini App used to sign up for and organize events. It explains what personal data we process, why, where it is stored, and the rights you have over it.

Who is responsible

The service is run by the bot's developer, who acts as the data controller. You can reach us by email at dockereventbot@gmail.com — see the “Contact” section below.

Data we receive from Telegram

When you open the bot, we receive from your Telegram account:

  • your Telegram user ID;
  • your username (@handle) — or your first and last name if you have no username;
  • your interface language.

Data created as you use the bot

  • your sign-ups and cancellations — which events and when, your waitlist position, and any “+friends” you add;
  • attendance: whether you were marked present or absent, and your answer to the “were you there?” question;
  • your notification settings;
  • the star rating and optional text of any review you send, together with your Telegram first name (no surname) and whether the review may be shown on the website;
  • which chats you share with the bot, so its admins can manage their events;
  • the dates you first and last used the bot, plus your Telegram language code — so we know which languages the bot is worth translating into.

What we do NOT collect

We never ask for or store passwords (you are signed in through Telegram), payment or card details, identity documents, your phone number, your contacts, your location, or the contents of your chats and messages beyond what you type into the bot's own forms.

Why we process your data

  • To provide the service you asked for — sign you up, keep the roster, run the waitlist, and send reminders and notifications. This is necessary to deliver the bot's core function.
  • To show attendance statistics and achievements and to keep the service working well — our legitimate interest.
  • To handle reviews you choose to send — on the basis of your consent, which you give by submitting them.
  • To show your review on the dockerbot.app website — only if you ticked “Can be shown on the website”, on the basis of that separate consent. The bot's operator decides which of the permitted reviews to show.
  • To reply to emails you send us — on the basis of your request.

Where your data is stored and who can see it

Your data is kept in our own database on our server. We do not sell it and do not share it with advertisers or other third parties for their own purposes.

  • Other members of a chat see your name or username and your sign-up status on the event card and in the event's statistics — that is the purpose of a shared roster.
  • Chat administrators can see attendance and statistics for their own events.
  • The bot's operator can read the reviews you send and see aggregate usage figures.
  • If you allowed it and the bot's operator picked your review, anyone visiting dockerbot.app sees your first name (no surname or username), rating and text. The average rating and review count on the website are aggregate, with no names. You can withdraw consent at any time: turn the switch off and send the review again, or delete your data — the review disappears from the website within a minute. An edited review is taken off the website automatically until the operator looks at it again.
  • Telegram, as the platform, handles your messages under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
  • The bot runs on a hosting provider that stores the data on our behalf.
  • If you play the video on the website, it is shown by YouTube (Google) — see the section about the website.
  • Emails you send to our address are stored by Google's mail service (Gmail). We use them only to reply to you.

The dockerbot.app website

The website itself sets no cookies. We store nothing in your browser to recognise you between visits, and we run no third-party visitor counters: everything described below, except the video, stays on our own server.

The server keeps a technical request log — time, page opened, browser type and the site you came from (only its address, e.g. google.com) — without IP addresses; an address may only appear in rare server error records.

To tell real people from robots and to see whether the site is comfortable to use, the page also reports anonymous details to that same server of ours: the page address, light or dark theme, screen width in steps (for example “375 to 429 points”), whether the page was scrolled (in quarters), whether the video was started and roughly how long you stayed (in steps). It contains no exact values and no identifiers, and it cannot link two of your visits. If your browser asks not to be tracked (Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control), nothing is sent at all.

The home page has a YouTube video. Until you start it, nothing is sent to YouTube: the preview image loads from our own server. When you press play, the player loads from youtube-nocookie.com and from then on the video is shown by YouTube (Google): it receives your IP address and browser details and may store data in your browser, under Google’s privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). Our server only learns that the video was started — nothing about you.

Buttons leading to Telegram open through an address on our own site, so the log records that a button was pressed — not who pressed it.

The log is kept for 14 days; we use it to count daily totals, and only those numbers are kept longer. The theme you pick on the site (light or dark) is stored only in your browser.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while it is needed to run the service and show history and statistics. Deleting an event removes its sign-ups; once the bot is removed from a chat, the related data is no longer used. You can delete all your data yourself at any time with the bot's /privacy command — it happens automatically and immediately, and can't be undone. The command does not cover email correspondence — we will delete it if you ask us to by email.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU GDPR or Serbia's data-protection law), you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw your consent. To use any of these rights, contact us as described below. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Children

The bot is not intended for people below the minimum age set by Telegram's terms and by local law. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above always shows the current version, and we may announce important changes in the bot.
